Faith Focused Safe-Travel Training

Traveling safely is important for all mission teams. The Global Missions Office provides the opportunity for all mission teams to be well prepared for travel. Faith Focused Safe Travel training gives up-to-date information about how to best be prepared for traveling overseas, protecting ministry and avoiding problems.

The training is provided by the Global Missions Office in partnership with a company specializing in this kind of training. The level B+ session is for those who travel frequently or those who are traveling to high-risk areas.

The 2026 opportunity for this class will be at the Southeast Alabama Baptist Association office on Feb 5-6. Register below to secure your spot.

For those teams going to less risky areas, there is an online class that can be provided.

To participate in the online series, the Team Leader should contact Angie Williams ([email protected] or 334-613-2373) to schedule a date for this training 2 to 3 months before your trip. The training is done via Zoom invitation. Team Training is customized by destination, with specific information on issues in the area. Training should be completed at least 2 weeks prior to departure. Entire team registration is required.

Cost is $25 per team, and all payments are due prior to the customized training date. Classes are invitation-only and last 1-2 hours via Zoom. Reservations are non-refundable.

The training is provided by the Global Missions Office in partnership with StrongHold Security Stewardship. Each training session is limited to 20 people and will be led by David Dose via skype/webinar.

Non-Customized Training

This training will give up-to-date information for traveling safely. When this training is completed, participants will receive an EMERGENCY TRAVELER SUPPORT Card. Explanation of this benefit will come in training. Individual registration is required.

Cost is $25 per attendee (includes brunch and breaks) and is due prior to training date.  Classes are 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration deadlines are one week prior to training! Reservations are non-refundable. 

Customized Training

The Team Leader will contact Angie Williams ([email protected] or 334-613-2373) to schedule a location and date for this training. The team will meet together at their selected location. Team Training is customized by destination, with specific information on issues in the area. Training should be completed at least 6 weeks prior to departure. Entire team registration is required.

 

2026 Safe Travel Training

Faith-Focused Safe Travel helps your team know how to avoid situations like being detained by a foreign government, volunteers held against their wishes, a natural disaster interrupting your mission experience, or a volunteer being injured or becoming ill on the field.
